COLD FLARE KNOCK OUT DRUMS (M3-931)



Client is assessing the process of forming head at the site before further work is being done.



Dye-penetration works being made to head to ensure no welding defects in the head 

Installation of shells and heads by using overhead crane.
The tank sized Ø3900 inside diameter and length of the TL-TL 11000. It uses material SA 240 Gr. 304. Each welding joint on the shell and the head will be radiographed.

Hydrostatic testing is underway. Pressure test is 3.5 bar and holding time is one hour and witnessed by the client and a third party.



After hydrostatic test is successful , the tank will be painted according to client specification and all openings are blind and wrapped with stretch film plastic.


The tank is ready for delivery.

COLD FLARE KNOCK OUT DRUMS (MD-931)


Sheet metal were cut to size before head forming
Sheet metal measuring 10mm in thickness were cut according to the size that has been granted by the former head vendor. Welding seams have been first through the x-ray before sending to be formed. Any defect will be repaired until no defects in welding joints.

Head Forming is in progress
Vendors who form this head is ASME qualified vendors. Inside diameter of the head is Ø3100mm material for the shell and the head is SA 240 Gr. 304. Two joint welding is required to get a head.

Manhole was fit-up at head
Once the head is formed, a hole was cut to install the manhole-sized 24 "along with WNRF B16.5 class 150# that was welded earlier onto the neck.



Among the items that used for this tank were LWNRF SA 182 F304. This flanges were  machined cut before it is installed and weld.



Three shell course arrived from rolling company and ready to fit and install. All of the three shell going through the process of X-ray after they are welded. The material for the shells is SA 240 304. All material for the manufacturing of the tank are not using material coming from China, India, or countries that are not endorsed by Petronas Gas Berhad. All materials used are from the USA, Japan and Europe.

COLD FLARE KNOCK OUT DRUMS (M2-931)


Picture above is one of the Petronas Gas Berhad (M) project. It uses material Stainless Steel SA 240 Gr 304. Thickness 14mm for head while the shell is 12mm. Inside diameter of the tank is Ø3100mm.


Both shell course to be fit-up. The total length of this tank is 10780mm and overall height from top flange to base plate is 3650mm.


Marking nozzles work done by a qualified fitter. After that inspector QC and QC Engineer will verify the position and location of nozzles are right. Serrated flange line to be cover to prevent damage to the line


Dye-penetration works was carry out after the welding work has been completed. This is to ensure there are no defects on the weldment. Material for leg support are entirely stainless steel including the base plate.

CRYOGENICS DIVISION


This tank is being pump with vacuum pump.


All valves and pipes has been replace with brand new one and this tank also been repainted.



Once leakage is detected, a repair procedure will be used to rectify the pipe. Snoop test will be conducted to the affected area to ensure the pipes have no leaking. All screws are tied firmly and the tank ready to be taken out for operation.
